Woman denies murdering her partner in Coatbridge
A 32-year-old woman denied murdering her partner by repeatedly hitting him with a glass bottle and a sharp implement. Alexis Cook is accused of killing her partner James McGrogan on March 13 in Coats Street, Coatbridge.
There are claims the attack was aggravated by abuse.
Cook is also accused of assaulting Mr McGrogan earlier that day by striking him on the face.
She is also charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice by making efforts to move Mr McGrogan's body, wash items of clothing, change her clothing and dispose of glass bottles .
Yesterday at the High Court in Glasgow, Cook, who was represented by defence QC Donald Findlay, pleaded not guilty and trial was set for October. It is expected to last 15 days.
