Woman Charged With Mum's Murder in Port Glasgow

A woman is to stand trial charged with murdering her mother.

Sadie Bale today faced the allegation at the High Court in Glasgow.

The 34 year-old is accused of attacking Yvonne Bale at her mum's home in Port Glasgow, Inverclyde on June 9 this year.

Prosecutors allege Bale threatened the 63 year-old with violence before brandishing and pursuing her mum with a knife.

The murder charges goes on to claim she then repeatedly struck Yvonne on the body with the blade.

Bale faces a separate allegation of assaulting her mum a week earlier by slapping her on the face to her injury.

It is also alleged she behaved in a threatening manner that day towards Yvonne including claims Bale smashed ornaments and ripped up photographs.

Bale faces the same charge in connection with another alleged incident on January 12 this year.

The indictment claims she attempted to seize hold of her mum before kicking the front door to try and gain entry to her home.

Bale is further accused of assaulting Stephen McNeill that day by kicking him on the body.

Judge Lord Bannatyne today set a trial due to begin in April next year.
