Woman and child hit by car outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery
Both are in a stable condition in hospital after the collision on Monday afternoon
A woman and a five-year-old boy are in a stable condition in hospital after they were hit by a car in Glasgow’s west end.
The pair were struck by a Volkswagen Touareg around 4.50pm on Monday afternoon.
They were crossing the road outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on Argyle Street.
Emergency services were called to the scene and both pedestrians were taken to hospital where they are in a stable condition.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “A 46 year-old woman and a five year-old boy were crossing Argyle Street, outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, when they were struck by a Volkswagen Touareg being driven by a 30-year-old woman.”
“The 46-year-old woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the five-year-old boy was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital in Glasgow.
“Hospital staff describe the condition of both as stable.”
Officers from Police Scotland are continuing their enquiries and have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
