A Lanarkshire woman has been left badly injured after an alleged attack in her home.

Theresa Campbell, from Uddingston, was left badly bruised with broken ribs after the altercation.

The incident took place on Saturday morning, and a 20 year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the attack, while police are understood to be looking for one more suspect.

Daughter of the 46 year-old, Stacey Clements, has said that her mother will be "mentally and physically scarred for life".

A JustGiving page has been set up to help raise money for Theresa Campbell, with half of the £1,500 goal already having been achieved.

Ms Clements, who now lives in Australia, posted on her Facebook page thanking those who have already donated.

She said, "I will be bringing her over to Australia for a while to get her away from it all and give her a break she deserves it.

"Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart if I could thank each and everyone of you I would".
