A pensioner's been attacked in the Parkhouse area of Glasgow.

The 64 year old woman had just left a bus when she was grabbed from behind on Langford Drive and pulled to the ground, by a man, who also tried to take her handbag yesterday morning.

The man is described as in his 30s, 5ft9, of Asian appearance and medium build with wide shoulders and a round face. He was wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up and dark tracksuit bottoms.

Detective Constable Louise Eliot from the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who was thankfully not seriously injured, but still left badly shaken.

“It is crucial that we trace this cowardly individual as soon as possible and I am appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

“The incident happened during the school run and we have already traced two people who stopped to help the victim after the attack. However there will have been plenty of cars in the area at the time and I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened or a man matching the above description acting suspiciously.

“Anyone with information can contact officers at the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan via 101 or alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
