Woman assaulted near East Kilbride school

Reports of an early morning sex assault on a women near St Louise Primary School are being investigated by police.

The 22-year-old is said to have been attacked on Whitehills Terrace near Straud Road around 6am.

The street has been partially closed while an investigation is carried out.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: ''An investigation is under way after police received a report of a sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman on Whitehills Terrace near Straud Road, East Kilbride, in the early hours of this morning.

Officers have cordoned off the area and enquiries are continuing.'
