Woman Admits Car Crash Death At Holiday Park
A woman has admitted killing a pensioner in a car crash at a holiday park. 26 year old Kylie Johnston pled guilty at the High Court in Glasgow to causing the death of Andrew MacKay by dangerous driving. The 65 year-old was crushed at the East Balthangie caravan park in Cuminestown, Aberdeenshire, on July 21 2013. The indictment stated Johnston "operated and controlled" the steering wheel of the car she was in from the front passenger seat. The vehicle is said to have gone out of control, crossed a grass area and then went through a fence. It then collided with Mr MacKay, of Renton, Dunbartonshire, who was standing in front of a caravan. The OAP was left so severely injured, he died. Johnston, of Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, is due to be sentenced later this year. Nathaniel Cooper, of Montrose, Angus, also faces a charge of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the incident. The 30 year-old is said to have been in the vehicle as well and driving it. Cooper denies the accusation and will stand trial on April 7 at the High Court in Aberdeen.
