Witness appeal after Paisley town centre rape

Police investigating the rape of a teenager in Paisley at the beginning of the month say it is absolutely vital they trying to trace two women they believe are crucial witnesses.

Police investigating the rape of a teenager in Paisley at the beginning of the month say it is absolutely vital they trying to trace two women they believe are crucial witnesses.

The 18 year old was attacked in woods at Meetinghouse Lane in the town centre between 7 and 10 to 8 on the night of Thursday the 1st of June.

Detectives have descriptions of two women seen nearby at the time - one was wearing a blue and white jacket with the hood up, jeans and trainers, the other was dressed in a white jacket, blue jeans and black trainers with white soles and laces

Detective Inspector David Wagstaff from Paisley CID said:

“A young woman has been subjected to a serious sexual assault by someone she knew and officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.

“As part of our investigation it is absolutely vital that we speak to the two woman who were seen in the nearby area around the time of the assault. I would appeal to them to please come forward to speak to our officers as they may hold crucial information that could help us with our enquiries.
