A driver’s died following a crash in rural Stirlingshire

A lorry driver has died in a road crash near Balfron.
The collision, which involved a tipper lorry, happened on the A81 north of Ballat crossroads near Balfron station in the Stirling Council area at about 7.30am on Thursday.
Police say the 42-year-old man died at the scene.
The A81 was closed between Ward Toll and Ballat crossroads following the crash to to allow investigations to take place.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident and are keen to speak to the driver of a black vehicle which was in the area at the time.
Sergeant Adam Weir, of Forth Valley road policing unit, said: "This collision has tragically resulted in the death of a man.
"Anyone who witnessed this incident or can assist police in their investigations is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
"We are particularly keen to trace the driver of a medium-sized black vehicle that was seen by witnesses in the area at the time of the accident."
