Whyte and Green Bailed after Rangers Court Appearance
Former Rangers owner Craig Whyte and ex-chief executive Charles Green have appeared in court over the alleged fraudulent purchase of the club in 2012.
Whyte and Green were in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court after spending the night in police custody.
Whyte (44) faced charges of conspiracy and an allegation under the Criminal Justice and Licensing Act.
Green (62) is also accused of the same allegations, but faces a further charge of fraud and one under the Companies Act.
Former administrator David Whitehouse (51) also appeared in the dock and stood accused of the same charges as ex-Ibrox owner Whyte.
Sheriff Sean Murphy QC bailed all three after they each made separate private appearances.
Green was the first to leave and was escorted out the building by police amid chaotic scenes.
A large crowd - who had turned up at court for the trio - yelled abuse including several cries of "you're going to jail."
Whitehouse was next to leave later in the afternoon before Whyte finally left court around 6.30pm.
More than a dozen police officers were on hand to help Whyte into a waiting car as he also faced the same barrage of abuse.
No further court date was set meantime.
