What to expect from day two of The Reeling Festival in Glasgow
Acts taking to the stage across the day include Julie Fowlis and Mànrun.
Day two of the biggest traditional music festival in the central belt is kicking off in Glasgow later.
Fans of The Reeling, held in Reuken Glen Park, can expect the best of that traditional Scottish folk music has to offer.
Acts taking to the stage across the day include Julie Fowlis and Mànrun.
Event organiser, Michael Pellegrotti said: “There’s a really strong following for traditional music across Scotland.
“Especially with the strength of the line-up, we’ve got some of the biggest bands on the scene.
“We’re going to be seeing people from all across the Western Isles, Orkney, Inverness all the way down to the central belt.”
The festival has partnered up with SpeakGaelic which offers a clear and comprehensive approach to learning Gaelic.
The Reeling is incorporating Gaelic signposting and language across the festival in a move which Michael believes is important for Gaelic speakers and non-speakers.
He said: “Gaelic is really important to traditional music, and it’s interwoven throughout so much of it.
“Gaelic, even for non-Gaelic speakers, is really integral.”
Those attending Reeling can also expect to see some secret acts which Michael assures fans of Niteworks will be delighted about.
Last entry to the festival site is at 8pm.
