A petition launched by a Glasgow mum to have inhalers included in every first-aid kit in kithcens will be debated in Westminster after it reached 100,00 signatures.

Earlier this year Clyde 1 told you how Elaine Cunningham from Dennistoun started the campaign because her 19-year-old daughter, Lauren, died after suffering an asthma attack at work.

Now that her fight has reached this milestone, Elaine is telling us she is lost for words.

"I am just a mum from the East End of Glasgow trying to get through my own grief by trying to help others as I do it.

"I am completely overjoyed by this news."

In February last year, Elaine got the news her daughter had suffered an asthma flare up at the bar where she worked as a chef which led to a cardiac arrest.

She spent four days on life support before her mum had to make the decision to turn the machines off.

Elaine wants the law to be changed so Salbutamol inhalers will be in first-aid kits in commercial kitchens.

"It means the world to me that my little girl's name could change the world.

"Such a simple rule change could mean that we could save the lives of asthma suffers and it is all thanks to her.

"I am blown away by it all and I really hope the ministers in Parliament take Lauren's story into their hearts."
