Vandals broke into Inn Deep in the West End of Glasgow last night and stole several bottles of spirits.

They smashed up a door before taking the alcohol.

However, they didn't take any money or valuable items.

Owner Sandy McMillan told Clyde 1: "Our cleaner came in this morning and discovered the smashed glass and evidence of the break in.

"Thankfully they had already disappeared because you don't know what these people would do if caught in the act."

The bar will remain closed for the rest of the day as officers carry out inquiries.

Staff have also been left with a big clean up operation.

Sandy added: "We've got to deal with the damage, police and insurers.

"Workers are also losing out on shifts just now as we are not able to open and it's a real shame because it was all just for a few bottles of booze.

"It's disheartening and we just want the place to be a safe environment for everyone."
