WATCH: TRNSMT will be back for 2018 after successful first year

More than 100,000 music fans attended the festival over the last weekend.

Organisers have confirmed to Clyde News TRNSMT will be back next year, after more than 100.000 people attended the first year of the festival.

The Glasgow Green event was brought to a close last night by Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro.

Organiser Geoff Ellis from DF Concerts said planning the city centre festival had been a "dream come true" and confirmed to Clyde News TRNSMT would be back for 2018.

Organisers say attendance has exceeded expectations, more than 50,000 people turned up for a sold out Saturday show.

Kasabian headlined the sold-out Saturday night, with a bumper crowd enjoying hits such as You're In Love With A Psycho, Shoot The Runner and Club Foot.

Around 35,000 fans flocked to the park on Friday and Sunday.

Fans on Friday were able to see bands such as London Grammar, Belle And Sebastian and headliners Radiohead.

Security was tight after recent terror attacks in the UK but the atmosphere was praised.

There were 7 arrests on the festival's busiest day and 8 people were ejected from the arena.
