WATCH: Rower Karen Bennett latest ambassador named for Glasgow 2018
The European Championships take place in August
Scottish Rowing star Karen Bennett is to be unveiled as the next official ambassador for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships – the biggest sporting event to be staged in Scotland since the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
A former European champion and 2016 Olympic silver medallist in the women’s eight, Edinburgh girl Karen took up the sport aged 18 and is backing the FISA 2018 European Rowing Championships’ role within the exciting new international multi-sport event.
Around 3,000 athletes will travel to Scotland for the European Championships in August, as part of a total delegation of around 8,500 including officials, media and others.
