A major operation has been carried out in Ayrshire as police attempt to tackle drug dealing.

Several addresses were targeted early on Friday 17th November and at least nine people were arrested in connection with the supply of drugs.

Division Commander for Ayrshire, Paul Main, said: "The public should be aware that we don't do these things light heartedly.

"I understand that some people phone us and they don't automatically see a police response.

"Sometimes we need to double check our information and make sure we search places at the right time and with the right powers legally.

"These will be Class A drugs and the drugs which cause the greatest amount of harm across Ayrshire and beyond.

"These are people are being targeted for their vulnerability and some are making a profit out of other people's misery."
