A Glasgow pub has released CCTV footage of the moment one of their customers had his wallet containing a large amount of cash stolen in an attempt to catch the thieves.
Staff at the Drum and Monkey took to Facebook to explain what happened.
They said: "Unfortunately one of our guests was pick pocketed yesterday while enjoying lunch. A substantial amount of money was removed from his wallet and the wallet replaced in his jacket.
"The police have collected the CCTV footage and asked us to share the video on Facebook.
"This is an unusual occurrence for us but goes to highlight the importance of being vigilant at all times.
"Please share far and wide to hopefully identify these two let’s face it thieving scumbags."
Martin Connolly replied to the post: "I’d just like to say thanks to The Drum and Monkey for the way they handled this situation.
"I was one of the people sitting at the table and they done everything within their power to help out. They have even offered a complementary meal for everyone at the table.
"The victim was an elderly retired colleague living on a pension and it’s sad that there’s people out there that would do something like this.
"It’s great that everyone has viewed and shared this. I think it’s worth reminding people to be aware of anyone they see acting suspicious even if they are very well presented/dressed."
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police were called to a pub on St Vincent street around 2pm on Thursday 15th November to reports of a customer having money stolen, Enquiries are on-going."
