Police have released CCTV footage of Bishopbriggs Cultural Centre which was deliberately set on fire on Tuesday 15th November.

Police have released CCTV footage of Bishopbriggs Cultural Centre which was deliberately set on fire on Tuesday 15th November.

The video posted to YouTube shows what officers believe to be wilful fireraising.

He is described as around 5ft10 and wearing a blue tracksuit, a hat with an illuminous band at the back, and dark shoes.

The fire caused thousand of pounds worth of damage at the building that was used a gathering place for the local Muslim community.

Detective Constable Stephen Cooke from Kirkintilloch CID said: “This was a deliberate and dangerous act which has caused extensive damage to the centre. “I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images to contact police as he may hold information vital to our inquiry. “Anyone with information about this incident can call police on 101 or alternatively you can contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given anonymously.”
