Two escaped and almost caused an accident on Edinburgh Road but the third, one year old Mick, was trapped in the pen.

  1. Dark hair, dark top with grey bottoms,
  1. Dark hair, dark top and blue trousers
  1. Dark hair and all dark clothing
  1. Grey top with black sleeves and grey trousers wearing a dark woolly hat
  1. Dark puffa jacket, light coloured hoodie underneath and dark trousers

Constable Kennedy Anderson based at Dumfries said "We understand this incident has caused considerable destress to the local community and we are keen to trace those responsible. We are following a positive line of enquiry however I would ask anyone who has any information or who may be able to help us identify these individuals to call police at Dumfries on 101.

Park Manager Ben Best said: “Wallabies are very easily stressed animals, it can seriously affect their stomachs and heart, sometimes proving fatal.

“In this case it has – despite the best efforts of our vet, Mick passed away last night.

“I have no anger towards the youths responsible, I just don't understand why they would do this to an innocent animal.

“Mick just didn’t deserve it.

“They also vandalised our ride-on lawn mowers and have broken all of our sanitisers.

“Someone out there knows who is responsible and they need to come forward immediately.”
