Hundreds of Vodafone staff in Glasgow have been told to relocate to England or face redundancy.

A total of 360 workers were told on Tuesday that jobs are to be shifted to three main centres in Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent and Newbury in Berkshire.

In a statement, Vodafone told us Clyde News this was part of "wider plans to build new centres of excellence in the UK and invest for the future.

We will continue to have people located in Glasgow and will invest more widely in Scotland, including installing 5G in Glasgow as part of our test network of this new and exciting mobile technology.

We recognise some employees will need to commute further and are speaking to them individually.

We are also rolling out ultra-fast full fibre broadband directly to homes and providing faster communications services across all regions.
