Two men have been taken to hospital following a disturbance at a crematorium in Uddingston.

Two men have been taken to hospital following a disturbance at a crematorium in Uddingston.

Police were called to Daldowie Crematorium at around 12.30pm on Thursday.

The two men have been taken to Wishaw General Hospital for treatment.

Police are dismissing claims on social media that a gun was fired during the altercation and are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Detective Inspector David Stewart, from Shettleston CID, said: "Inquiries are at an early stage to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident."

A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: We can confirm an incident took place in the car park at Daldowie Crematorium and are helping police with their inquiries.
