LISTEN: 'Suspicious package' sent to an MP’s office in Kirkintilloch

A suspicious package sent to an MP’s office in Kirkintilloch has been sent away for testing.

The alarm was raised by staff at John Nicolson’s office just after midday and both police and fire response units were called to the scene.

Part of Towhead was sealed off for several hours while officers investigated the parcel.

A police spokeswoman has told Clyde News: “it’s been taken away for testing, but the area has now reopened.”
