VIDEO: Scottish athletes win tough open-water swim

Two local swimmers have beaten 200 competitors from around the globe to win the Red Bull Neptune Steps men's and women's races in Glasgow

Two athletes from Glasgow and the West have triumphed at what has been dubbed the toughest open-water swim in the UK.

Sharon Botham, a student from Stirling University and Mark Deans from Jordanhill won the women's and men's races at the Red Bull Neptune Steps challenge at Maryhill Locks.

The event has returned to Glasgow for the second year running and sees participants swim 420 metres and climb over various obstacles at eight canal lock gates.
