Clyde News is getting exclusive access to a Scotrail crackdown on passengers who fail to pay fares on the rail network in Glasgow and the West.

Staff and British Transport Police Officers are targetting busy commuter routes this morning.

The company says they know the lines where passengers are dodging the ticket inspectors and those who flout the law will be caught.

Scotrail has just finished a major survey and has discovered fraud was carried out on around 900,000 journeys.

The company says that accounts for just 1% of the travelling public and they want to try and change the mindset of people who think it is acceptable to travel without a ticket.
