VIDEO: Fire rips through derelict school in Glasgow
Fire fighters have been tackling a blaze at Drumoyne P.S in Govan that's been described as a "significant blaze."
Firefighters have been tackling a "significant" blaze at a derelict primary school in Glasgow.
Six fire engines were sent to Drumoyne P.S on Shieldhall Road in Govan after the alarm was raised at around 15:30 hrs.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue service spokeswoman said firefighters are tackling the "significant" blaze.
She said: "The service was alerted at 3.30pm to reports of a fire at a derelict building in Shieldhall Road.
"We have dispatched six fire engines to the scene and firefighters are currently engaged in fighting the fire."
Glasgow City Council said a stretch of Shieldhall Road between Drumoyne Road and Langlands Road has been closed to traffic.
Police officers are also in attendance at the blaze.
It took crews around two hours to bring it under control and the road outside has since re-opened.
It is not the first time fire fighters have been called to the school after a fire chief blasted vandals for breaking into the building and torching it in September 2014.
Investigations at the scene continue.
