Four people have been hurt in a serious crash in Clydebank this morning.

Police say a 15 year old boy and a 43 year old man are seriously injured after the vehicle lost control southbound on Kilbowie Road at around 07:45 this morning.

The 52 year old male van driver and a 48 year old woman are also being treated at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but their conditions are less serious.

Inspector Adam McKenzie from the Road Policing Department said:

“We are in the process of establishing the exact circumstances of the incident and I would like to appeal to people who were in the area at the time to contact us. If you saw the van or the incident, please do contact us and pass the information on.”

Clyde News has spoken to eyewitnesses at the scene who say the driver appeared to have had a fit at the wheel and he wasn't travelling at speed.

The Police Inspector in charge at the scene refused to be drawn saying it was "pure speculation."

The road has since re-opened.

The driver worked for Hiflow, a company based in Dalmuir which carries out plumbing and gas boiler fitting. They refused to comment.
