Detectives investigating 'unexplained' death in Newton Mearns

The body of a 37-year-old man has been found in a house in Newton Mearns.

Police were called to the property on Anderson Drive around 2.30pm on Friday 10th August. The man has been identified as Leigh McCracken.

A post-mortem has since been carried out and the death is being treated as unexplained. Officers are trying to establish his last movements by carrying out door-to-door enquiries and checking CCTV.

Detective Inspector Craig McPhail, of Helen Street Police Office, said: “We are continuing to try and piece together the last movements of Leigh to help us with our enquiries.

“The last confirmed sighting we have of Leigh was on Wednesday, 25 July 2018 at Eastwood Health Centre. We are appealing to anyone who may have seen him or heard from Leigh either on this date or after.

“We have been checking CCTV and making door to door enquiries in the area but would ask anybody who knows her or lives in the area and has any information that can help us to please come forward and contact us.”
