An Uddingston cafe which traditionally opens every Christmas Day to feed those in need may not be able to this year - after the chef pulled out.

Jollytots and Cookies on Old Mill Road has been hosting a party for between 50 and 70 people for the last five years.

But this year could be different if they don't find a replacement to cook the dinners.

Owner Gail Gillon said: "For the last five years at Jollytots & Cookies we have hosted a Christmas party for people in the community who may be a bit lonely or they may be in poverty.

"We normally do this for between 50 and 70 people.

"It's a fantastic day and we provide a three course meal, we have gifts, we have hampers that people can take away - it's just a magical day for people that maybe don't have anyone to spend it with.

"This year unfortunately our chef is not available and we've only just found out.

"I don't have the skills to do it on my own I just couldn't - so we really need someone who is talented, that would come along and provide a meal for up to 70 people.

"We'd be absolutely thrilled if someone could come."
