A two-year-old girl and a man have been taken to hospital after falling from the window of a flat in Glasgow.

The incident happened at around 12.35pm on Monday on Calder Street in the Govanhill area of the city.

Emergency services were called to a report of a 38-year-old man and a two-year-old girl having fallen from a window.

They were taken to hospital, where the man is in a serious condition and the girl is stable.

It is not known how far they fell.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "At around 12.35pm on Monday, police were called to a report of a 38-year-old man and a two year-old girl having fallen from the window of a flat in Calder Street, Glasgow.

"They have been taken to hospital where they are being treated for their injuries.

"Hospital staff describe his condition as serious and the girl's condition is described as stable.

"Police inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
