Two women in hospital after early morning crash in East Kilbride

The incident happened at the Thorntonhall Roundabout shortly after midnight on Sunday

Two women have been taken to hospital after an early morning crash in East Kilbride.

The incident happened on the A727, at the Thorntonhall Roundabout, when a car collided with a parked vehicle at around 12.30am on Sunday (June 19).

Two women, aged 24 and 23, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

Police have confirmed a 24-year-old woman has been arrested in relation to the incident and released pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Christopher Hoggans, from Police Scotland's road policing unit, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area or has dash-cam footage around the time."
