Two men seriously injured after fight in Govan school
Two men have been seriously injured after a fight in Govan last night.
Police were called at 7pm to Ardnish Street to a report of a man who was injured.
Officers say there was a large group of young people within a local school and a disturbance broke out resulting in the 21 year old man being injured and a further man, aged 20, sustaining an arm injury.
Both men were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where they remain.
The 20 year old man is receiving treatment for a facial injury and a stab wound.
The 21 year old man is being treated for laceration to his arm.
Detectives are continuing enquiries to ascertain the exact circumstance of what has happened.
Officers are carrying out door to door enquiries and are in the process of gathering CCTV footage for any additional information.
Detective Constable Alyson Dowds said: “This incident happened around 7pm on a warm, sunny evening and I’m sure plenty of people will have been out and about making the most of the weather. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have heard or seen anything to contact us.
"We know a number of people were within the local high school and I’m appealing to them to contact us directly.
"Two men have been injured and we need to establish exactly what and why this has happened.
"If anyone has any information, please do pass it on to us.”
