Two Scottish men snared after £2million of cocaine was found smuggled inside computers are behind bars.

Pradeep Bhowmick, 31, was jailed for 12 years and James Quinn, 32, for 10 years at the High Court in Glasgow today.

The pair were snared after customs at Hull Docks stopped a lorry which had travelled from Amsterdam in the Netherlands in September 2013.

Officials went on to discover 8kg of high purity cocaine hidden within computers.

Bhowmick, of Renfrew, and Quinn, of Parkhouse, Glasgow, returned to court after being convicted of being concerned in the supply of the class A drug.

Lady Carmichael today said Bhowmick - a freight shipping clerk – played a “significant operational role”.

A jury previously heard how the computers had been bound for a business called Selena MJ Ltd based In Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.

Bhowmick and Quinn had denied the accusations during a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh.
