Two men have been jailed for leaving a man with life changing injuries in Uddingston in March 2022.

The 44-year-old sustained permanent disfigurement on Main Street in the town on Thursday March 3, 2022 before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Twenty-nine year-old Dylan Black was sentenced to six years and Ian Donnelly, aged 27, sentenced to five years and eight months in connection with the assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger to life.

Detective Chief Inspector Susie Cairns said: “This was a targeted attack and I hope the conviction brings some closure for the victim.

“Black and Donnelly carried out a deliberate and brutal attack and they will now face the consequences of their actions that day.

“This kind of violence has no place in our communities and I hope this outcome sends a clear message to those involved in serious crime that we are committed to seeking out those responsible and bringing them to justice.”
