Police are appealing for information and are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and has dash-cam footage.
Detective Constable Stuart Welsh at Govan Police Office, said: 'This incident was violent and aggressive and there is no place for it in our society. Officers are checking CCTV and speaking to those in the area to try and trace those responsible.
'We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident take place and been in the area at the time. The incident took place at a busy junction and we know a number of cars were stopped at the time. Were you in one of these cars? Do you have dash-cam footage?
'We also know that a bus stopped nearby around the time of the incident, you may have been on this bus or have got off at that stop.
'We would also ask anyone who may have dash-cam footage and was driving in the area to come forward - you may have vital evidence that can help us.'
