Two men have been taken to hospital following unconnected serious assaults in Renfrewshire.

Two men have been taken to hospital following unconnected serious assaults in Renfrewshire.

A 45-year-old man was seriously assaulted outside the Anchor Bar in Paisley at around 9.30pm on Saturday May 7.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where his condition was described as stable.

The second serious assault happened on Graham Street in Johnstone at 12.40am on Sunday May 8.

A 30-year-old man suffered facial injuries'' andlacerations to his head'' and was also taken to the RAH.

Police Scotland confirmed that the incidents are not connected, and have appealed for witnesses.
