Two men arrested after on-duty police officer hurt in Hamilton

Two men have been arrested and charged after an on-duty police officer was hurt in a crash in Hamilton last week.

It happened around 1pm on Friday when officers approached a car on Low Waters Road while out on patrol.

The vehicle then made off and was involved in a collision with one of the officers, a 33-year-old man.

Two men, aged, 30 and 56, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and are due to appear before Hamilton Sheriff Court tomorrow.

The injured officer remains in hospital for treatment.
