Two charged with attempted murder after police officer hit by car
Two men have been charged with attempted murder after a police officer was hit by a car in Glasgow.
The incident happened in Devonshire Gardens in the west end of the city at about 5.50pm on Tuesday as plain-clothed officers carried out an investigation.
A car was allegedly driven at the 36-year-old officer, who was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Two men, aged 30 and 53, have been now been charged and are expected to appear at the city's sheriff court later.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that two men have been charged in connection with an attempted murder in Glasgow.
"The men, aged 30 and 53-years-old, were arrested following the incident, which happened around 5.50pm on Tuesday July 21 on Devonshire Gardens.
"Both men are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.''
