Two charged over football-related assaults in Edinburgh

Two men have been arrested and charged over football-related incidents in Edinburgh.

A 26-year-old has been charged in connection with a serious assault on a 70-year-old woman that happened on Westfield Road, near Murrayfield Stadium, on Sunday 28 October 2018.

A 21-year-old has also been charged in connection with an assault on a Hearts goalkeeper that occurred at Tynecastle Stadium on Wednesday 31 October 2018.

Both men have been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.

Police say inquiries into other incidents that occurred at Tynecastle Stadium are currently ongoing.
