Two charged following drugs recovery in Ayrshire

£65,000 worth of herbal cannabis has been found in Beith

Two men have been arrested following the discovery of herbal cannabis in Beith.

Around 2 on Wednesday afternoon officers stopped and searched a man in Townhead recovering drugs with a street value of around £65,000.

A 20-year-old male - and another aged 59 - are being held in connection with the discovery.

Superintendent Stephen Elliott said: "These operations underline our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy. We will not tolerate illegal drugs in our communities.
