Two eleven year old boys are going to be reported to the Scottish Childrens Reporter following a fire which destroyed a family home in Lanarkshire.

Emergency crews were called to the house on Nursery Drive, in Ashgill around 5.10 pm on Sunday, 18 April.

There was extensive damage to the property although the four people inside at the time weren't hurt.

Owner Jill Davies told us how she'd lost everything and had no money to rebuild the property because her insurance lapsed following her husband's death.

It's believed the fire began in a park next to the house and the boys will be reported in relation to reckless behaviour.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:

“Enquiries have concluded and two 11 year old boys will be the subject of a report to the Scottish Children’s Report Administration in relation to culpable and reckless behaviour.”
