Pupils at Uddingston Grammar are being offered support and space to deal with their grief.
Her family are also asking for privacy.
Letters have been sent to parents to inform them of the situation.
'Deeply saddened'
Head Teacher of Uddingston Grammar, John McKay, said: “Our whole school community is deeply saddened by the loss of Arianna.
“Arianna was a much-loved young woman. She touched all of our hearts and we are all better for having known her and having shared time with her as part of our family in Uddingston Grammar.
"We are devastated to lose her and our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
“Representatives from the council’s Psychological Services team, and our own Pupil Support and Counselling team, have been offering support and space for young people when and wherever needed, and will continue to do so.
“If any child needs any additional support, parents and carers can contact the school and a member of staff will be in touch with them.
“The family will need privacy in order to grieve at this sad time.”
