Tributes have been shared by friends and family on social media for Glasgow boy Kayden Walker, who died after a tragic River Tay accident.

The 12-year-old boy, named locally, got into difficulties on the river on the afternoon of Sunday 28th July.

He was initially taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee but died two days later on Tuesday 30th July.

Kayden was described as an "amazing" brother, his older brother Kai Johnson said in an emotional Facebook post:

"There’s no words I could say to make this any easier. Woke up this morning, done the usual scroll through Facebook and then 5 minutes later I remember the absolute nightmare of the last two nights and it all begins to sink in all over again.

"You really don’t know what’s around the corner and in my mind I still don’t fully believe it all. I make this promise to you now Kayden, Jude will always grow up knowing just how much of an amazing big brother he had from both what he remembers and what we will all tell him.

Your up there with granda now so look after each other. I love you wee man with all my heart. Until we meet again"

"Kayden Walker. You really were simply the best"

Kayden's cousin Brogan O'Connor said she was "absolutely devastated" to lose her younger cousin who she described as "a wee boy with his full life ahead".
