Restrictions are easing on travelling within Scotland and meeting up with other households from today.

Six adults from six different households can meet up outdoors to socialise in a private garden, a public space or for exercise.

Travel restrictions are also being eased, meaning we can meet with family and friends in different council areas too.

Gordon Watson, chief executive of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, said:

"With the weather forecast looking good, we're expecting a really busy weekend ahead.

"We'll certainly be ready with lots of staff on the grounds, lots of rangers to welcome people, we'll have extra toilets in busy places.

"We would ask people to plan ahead before they visit.

"Remember that most things are still closed until 26 April.

"Remember if there's no litter bins, take your litter home and please avoid fires as well - it's very dry out there and we don't want to risk wild fires."

Gordon also warned people to be prepared with a back-up plan if the area is too busy, particularly if taking a car.

He said: "If somewhere you were planning to go to is busy, please have a plan B.

"Adding to congestion and parking on road verges really causes big issues of congestion and danger in terms of traffic."

Stirling Council, which is home to tourist hotspots like Balmaha, Aberfoyle and the Devil's Pulpit, is also urging visitors to be responsible this weekend as travel restrictions are lifted.

Council Chief Executive, Carol Beattie said: "We’re looking forward to welcoming people back to Stirling as it’s a truly wonderful place, and our rural communities rely on the business day-trippers bring.

"There’s every chance this weekend will be the busiest of the year so far and we really need people to be responsible for their actions.

"Our car parks and public toilets will be open, but our strong message to those planning to visit the area is: plan ahead, and if it’s already busy, Stirling will still be here for you to visit another time."
