Trains running on Glasgow to London line again
A lineside fire stopped all trains in and out of Euston yesterday
Trains from Glasgow to London Euston are operating again after a lineside fire closed the terminal in the capital last night.
Trains were cancelled going in and out of the station from Wednesday afternoon after a blaze next to the track near South Hampstead triggered a power cut.
The incident affected customers on Virgin Trains services to and from the station which handles 114,000 passengers every day.
Network Rail said engineers worked through the night to install 100 metres of 11,000-volt power cables.
According to the Office of Rail and Road, the independent regulator, Euston is the fifth busiest station in Britain with 41.7 million entries and exits in 2015/16.
