A train worker from Clydebank has caused a storm on Twitter after asking passengers to help him get a half day.

Robert Altenburg, who works for Scotrail's GSMR team, finishes up for his summer holiday tomorrow so used the intercom to ask commuters if they'd pressure his bosses into giving him some extra time off to get his "nails done".

Bobby, as he's known to his wife Susan who works here at Radio Clyde, said: "If I could just ask a favour of all the passengers on the train, could you please tweet into Scotrail saying what a wonderful job I'm doing and ask my boss to give me a half day tomorrow so I can get my hair, nails and face all done before I fly out on Saturday.

He continued: "Please enjoy the rest of your day and I look forward to seeing you all again on the 19th of August."

Scotrail tweeted "Robert's a Legend!".

We're not sure if it worked Bobby - but all of us here at Radio Clyde News hope you have the best time away!
