A tractor has smashed into the wall of a Lanarkshire high school.

Emergency services were called to Uddingston Grammar at 8.20am this morning when the trailer it was on became detached from a larger vehicle and hit the wall of the schools sports complex.

No - one's been injured and the driver's been treated for shock.

The car park's been closed to traffic since it happened this morning and parents are being asked to make other arrangements to pick up their children.

Police Scotland said: "Police were called around 8.20am to Uddingston Grammar following a report of a trailer detaching from a vehicle and hitting one of the school buildings.

There were no injuries but the male driver was taken to Monklands hospital as a precaution. Relevant agencies will assess the damage to the building."
