Three people die following disturbance at Aberdeen flat
Three people have died following a disturbance in Aberdeen.
Two men and a woman have died following a disturbance at a block of high-rise flats in Aberdeen.
Forensic officers are examining the scene at Donside Court in the Tillydrone area as detectives investigate the circumstances of the deaths.
Officers were called to the 19-storey block at around 8.15pm on Tuesday but are not looking for anyone in connection with what they described as a “contained incident''.
Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating reports that a person fell from the tower block, where a blue forensic tent remained close to the main entrance on Wednesday morning.
No officers were injured in the incident.
Local councillor Martin Greig said: “There will be families grieving profoundly at this terrible news. Our sympathies are with those who have lost loved ones.
“The local community and the city will share feelings of shock at this violent incident.
“It is reassuring that the police, the council and other organisations are doing their best to help in dealing with this awful incident.''
Detective Superintendent Dave McLaren, from Police Scotland's major investigation team, said: At this time the investigation is in its very early stages, however the circumstances as they present at this time would indicate that this is a contained incident and we are not looking for any other person in relation to the deaths.
“Further information will be released in due course.''
