Three people have appeared in court charged with murdering a man.

Paul McCann, 37, Mark Moncrieff, 32 and Domenica Smith, 24 allegedly attacked and killed a man on July 9 on the road on Reidvale Street with weapons.

They are also accused of assaulting a woman, as well as behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

McCann, from Castlemilk, Glasgow, Moncrieff from Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire and Smith from Shettleston, Glasgow, appeared in private at the city’s sheriff court earlier.

All three were remanded in custody by sheriff Anthony Deutsch.

Papers from the court allege that on the roadway outside a property on Reidvale Street, the trio repeatedly punched and kicked the man on the head and body, and repeatedly stabbed him on the body with a knife or similar instrument.

The charge also claims they repeatedly struck him on the head and body with a hammer, and murdered him.

It’s claimed they brandished a hammer and attempted to strike a woman with it, took hold of her hair, threw her against a fence, struggled with her and kicked her on the body to her injury.

And, they all face a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by repeatedly kicking and jumping on a car, striking the car with a hammer and shouting, swearing and uttering threats.

Moncrieff faces three further allegations of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, resisting, obstructing or hindering police and assaulting a police officer.

McCann, Moncrieff and Smith entered no plea and will appear at a full committal hearing next week.
