Emergency services are on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on the M8.

Two cars and a van were involved in the collision eastbound, near junction 26, around 7.25pm.

Paramedics were called to the scene and officers have been assisting with traffic management.

The M8 eastbound is still closed prior to junction 26, with cars passing on the hard shoulder - drivers are being told to expect delays of 15 minutes.

There are also only two lanes running westbound.

It is unclear if there are any injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The M8 eastbound is closed prior to junction 26 with traffic passing on the hard shoulder following a crash involving a van and two cars around 7.25pm.

“Lane three westbound is also closed with traffic able to pass in lanes one and two.

“Driver are asked to avoid the area.”
