Three Arrested Over Suspected £1m VAT Fraud In Glasgow Catering Trade

Three people have been arrested in connection with a suspected £1 million VAT fraud linked to the Glasgow catering trade.

Officers from HM Revenue and Customs seized business records and computer equipment from a business and two homes in Glasgow, as part of the investigation.

A 56-year-old man, and two women aged 54 and 55 were arrested today as a result of the searches.

David Odd, Assistant Director, Fraud Investigation Service, HMRC, said:

“HMRC takes tax fraud extremely seriously and anyone choosing to evade the taxes they owe should expect their actions to be investigated.
